Della Curtis went Harley-ridin' with her friend, Julie Steenerson, from Mekinock, North Dakota. They took an exhilirating and fun drive around Hatton. Della said, "I never thought I'd ever be on one of those things again. It was great!"
Shooting Star
Rosella Bentru was the lucky winner of a Cherished Hopes trip to the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, Minnesota. Cherished Hopes is a program sponsored by North Dakota's Long Term Care Association that grants wishes to residents of nursing facilities. Rosella loves the Shooting Star and was accompanied by her friends, Ron and Diane Eliason, and favorite CNAs, Ronda Hanson and Teresa Kamphaug. Rosella didn't reveal her winnings, but has already returned to the casino for another fun outing this month.
Wild Wild West
Jacqueline Gust was also the recipient of a Cherished Hopes trip and chose Medora, North Dakota for her adventure. She was accompanied by Marilyn Bye, CNA, and Yvonne Schiffner, one of our residents' favorite volunteer musicians. They took in the Badlands, pitch fork fondue, Medora Musical and lots of shopping. Jackie returned with good memories and lots of stories to tell.
Hole in One?
No, not quite. But Ron Evanson, who loves to golf, spent a gorgeous fall afternoon golfing at the Northwood Golf Course. His golfing partner was our Plant Manager, Curtis Huus. Ron said he didn't golf "so great", but Curtis said he chased his ball around alot more than Ron did.
WebCam Visit
Our oldest resident, Inga Ringsrud, 104, will be visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren in North Carolina via webcams. They will be able to see each other as they talk with each other, which is very special to Inga.
